For approximately twenty years Silvio has been involved in martial arts, a variety of other sporting activities and fitness training. For over fifteen years he has taught a diverse range of sports based martial arts systems, self-defence concepts and fitness activities to various community groups and educational establishments. He tirelessly promotes the martial arts by regularly giving impressive and breathtaking demonstrations and making public appearances throughout the UK, parts of Europe, North America and Canada. Using Taekwondo and other sporting activities as a means to draw people’s attention to the plight of others, Silvio has help to raise tens of thousands of pounds for numerous charities and voluntary organisations.
In 1999 Silvio achieved the ultimate pinnacle in his chosen discipline of Taekwondo by becoming a World Gold Medalist. He has also been four times European Taekwondo champion and fourteen times British Taekwondo champion. His dedication, commitment and success has gained him a multitude of front page covers and feature articles in publications such as The Sun and Mirror newspapers, FHM, Combat Magazine, Black Belt Magazine and many other reputable journals.
A little over seven years ago Silvio exploded on to our television screens as one of the stars of Masters of Combat, a revolutionary game show on BBC2 based on the martial arts. He has made countless appearances on British and international television shows and programmes including Lexx (Sci-Fi), Combat Club (CH5), Scrapheap Challenge, That Film Show & Rise (CH4), Mile High and Where’s It At (Sky1) to name but a few. He has played various characters in television commercials and music promotional videos and he has also been a guest television presenter on late night TV shows including Cable and Sky network programmes.
Equally as impressive as his television appearances Silvio has also starred in an array of home-grown and international action films. These include appearances in Black Mask 2, Team One, The Purifiers, The Illiterate, Undisputed 2 and Unleashed with Jet Li and Bob Hoskins. In 2006 he appeared in the film version of the highly successful X-Box game Dead or Alive (DOA) with Holly Valance and Eric Roberts. Soon to be released in 2008, Silvio also stars in three films new films, Ten Dead Men, Ultra Obscure and Transporter 3 with Jason Statham.
Silvio’s talents reach far beyond his competitive prowess, television and film appearances. Impressively he is the first person to have choreographed a spectacular martial arts display at the Dominion Theatre for a Royal Variety Performance’ attended by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. He has also appeared in and helped to produce martial arts spectaculars at the Royal Albert Hall and at Euro Disney.
In general, Silvio’s work has taken him to all corners of the globe and given him the opportunity to work and interact with many who are widely regarded to be at the top of their chosen professions.
