Kevin has been involved in martial arts for the last 23 years and is the holder of a variety of martial arts, personal security and other security related instructional qualifications. At 23 years old he served with the British Army with the Royal Engineers but his career aspirations in this field were cut short due to an injury sustained in a training exercise. His keen interest in sports and martial artists in particular later led him to pursue a career as a stuntman. He achieved his goal and was accepted on to the British Stunt Register in 1998, after qualifying to a national standard at six different physical disciplines.
In 2000 Kevin decided to pursue his other passion which was to join the regular Police force and after successful completion of recruits training he begun his career as a Police Officer. During his time with the Police service he has specialised as an unarmed defence instructor and has 6 years experience of teaching handcuffing, baton and open handed techniques and their legal applications to other serving frontline officers including Specials and Community Support Officers.
Outside of his Police duties Kevin is a qualified first aid instructor and in March 2008 received a Resuscitation Award from the Royal Humane Society for resuscitating a child whilst on holiday with his family. In addition to his regular role he spends his spare time as a consultant and has previously worked for a company that dealt with hazardous and hostile environment training.
