This is I guess the why! Defensive Media came about as I started to develop my Graphic Design capabilities separately from my Professional Photography. Initially I would only work with my own photographs or offer graphic design to my photography clients.
With my involvement on the feature film Sucker Punch I was asked to basically handle all creative/design elements of the film so Posters, DVD Inlay Design, DVD Design, Banners, Flyers, Premiere Invites etc.
This started off me really learning Photoshop as before I had been a power user of the Photo editing capabilities of Photoshop, but not really had a need to learn anymore.
As I moved on from Sucker Punch I found myself learning more and more about design, and this led me into being offered opportunities to develop my design skills further.
1 Year on from Sucker Punch and I have just re-designed the DVD Cover and Poster. I have also been churning out design work at a quite alarming pace as I get to work on my first hopefully large budget film where I am responsible for again all design elements including Publicity Stills which is going to be awesome!
So, exciting times ahead.
